Explanation…
There are a couple things you should all know. First of all, do not even bother trying to call me as my phone had a little incident at the pool. I will let you know when it is fully functional again. Second, the pictures I added this morning may or may not have confused you. We went to see fireworks last night (I mean, who didn’t?), and one of the best places to see them was a stretch of highway (median and everything) where countless cars lined up to watch. We got up on the roof of a Ford Expedition and watched a great show. Then we went to Walmart to buy some fireworks and… have a little fun. Afterward, we set them off in the church parking lot. It was a great weekend and we had an awesome time being ridiculous. Anyway, it’s great to keep hearing from you all. Happy Independence Day (a day late) and God Bless America.

PS: If I get five different people to ask about the cell phone story, I will explain. Peace!
Weekly Review: Blount Community Church
This week was Blount Community Church out of Maryville, Tennessee. Unfortunatey, I didn’t get a chance to get an interview or even say goodbye to them because I thought that sleeping was more important. :( However, they were an amazing team and I loved getting to know them all this week. God bless you guys and we will see you next year (especially the couple of you who will spend the summer, ahem)!
A Quick Look at Today
Alright, so I plan to actually tell you all what’s going here on fairly soon, but now is not that time. However, there was a major event today which I will shed some light on. On the way to Raleigh North (our first site), we recieved a call from Scotty telling us to wait when we arrived until he showed up. He said there had been a bank robbery nearby and the fugitive was armed and dangerous. Just then we noticed three choppers overhead. We turned onto Atlantic Ave. and saw at least twenty-five police cars lining the street, with more on sidestreets. Cops with bullet-proof jackets and shotguns were surrounding the woods and the news was there. Well, we ended up having to cancel kid’s club today and send kids home because of the fugitive, but we were still able to have the block party tonight since they ended up catching the guy. And of course, it was a success. God’s always in control!

Weekly Review: Kellytown Baptist Church
Here is our first team to run kids clubs this summer. Madi, the girl I interviewed, came to Mission Raleigh because her mother was a leader on the Kellytown team. However, she fit right in with the other teens and was great to have.
Happy Birthday Colby!
The Battle of the Oaks
Unfortunately, things were beginning to settle down by the time I thought to pull out the camera, but I think you can get the idea. This just kind of happened. It started as a game of pass between us and a couple kids and grew into utter chaos at its finest. Thankfully, there were no significant injuries.
One additional note: I’m sure you’ve noticed that there is now a “Videos” thanks to Nate. Not all of my videos are going to be posted on the home page, so be sure to check that new page from time to time. Thanks!
